As a young man, I used to write letters to my future self. I wanted the older me to feel loved by the younger me. I still enjoy reading those letters when I stumble upon them. Often, I wrote from a place of imagined abundance—surrounded by love and resources—even though, in truth, I had little of either at the time. I was projecting the future I wanted to live in.
This year, 2025, began with a kind of cosmic momentum, sparked by a few profound experiences. The most pivotal was an invitation from Elizabeth Gilbert to write a letter from love (you can also read my letter here). That invitation was a blessing. I hadn’t realized how long it had been since I spent real time in conversation with my old friend and lifelong companion: Love.
That letter reopened something in me. It peeled back layers of calluses I hadn’t even noticed forming over the years. Since then, my creativity has been sparking in every direction. My “Letter from Love” turned into “Conversations With Love,” and they’ve been pouring out of me. I recently wrote a letter to the youth, imagining what Love would want to say to my son and his peers.
What struck me in that process was this: many children already know what love is. They act on it instinctively. It’s often the adults who have been conditioned, peer-pressured, or taught by society to forget.
Our little ones are like sponges, soaking up everything we offer—how we speak, how we listen, how we respond, how we move through the world. It reminds me of a village well: the quality of the water impacts the entire community. And too often, the water we offer our children today is toxic—or the wells are dry entirely. Yet even so, whether the well is dry or tainted, those sponges keep soaking. They are still the future. And their choices will ripple across generations, just as ours have.
Our children have the potential to move beyond the barriers we’ve built—but only if they are encouraged to do so. My prayer is that they are empowered to transcend our limitations rather than inherit them. May we foster a future marked by more loving interactions, not less. May we be the ones who dig new wells and purify old waters.
Let’s do better—for them.
Greetings future forest of humanity!
You tiny humans are a precious gift. Filled with wonder, innocence, and joy, you come to us sponges ready to soak up all that life has to offer.
Although you vary in size, shape, flower, and fruit, each of you carry with you our collective potential. The seeds of the future are found in the choices you will make. I encourage you to keep your curiosity.
Remember, the arguments of your fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers do not need to be your own. Don’t hold onto the bias of the previous generations, instead learn from each other, and work together. We all grow better this way.
You have a great opportunity to shape a better world than the one we give to you.
Although the civilization you take over may find itself injustice and corrupt, you must remember Life has principles and rewards discipline and dedication. The weight of all the problems you are to inherit will justify apathy, but sharing solutions and appreciating earth's resources will foster gratitude.
We may have taught you scarcity, but you can still learn abundance. We may have taught you what to fear, but you must not be afraid to love as a result. Foster a world with more to love than there is to fear.
Be the creators of a better future, and do not feel limited or trapped by the current reality. The future is always changing, how it’s shaped is up to you.
Each of you has the potential to grow into something beautiful. When you are old enough to read this, it will be up to you to foster a nurturing environment where your seeds will be planted. Foster one of love and one of growth.
May the Love, Light and Life inside you guide you and bring you closer together.
Your friend,
Love

LOVE it
Love exists. It still exists. When I look around, I see it everywhere and even underneath the stressed, scared, sterile expressions and tones. I can see it maybe because I spend so much time cultivating it within myself, for myself. My teen daughters sometimes make fun of me for the time I spend on my yoga mat in silence. But I do believe that I am sending them a quiet message, showing them the importance of love and care. I also share messages with them. I sometimes write them down for them to keep. I don’t know if they are listening. I don’t know if they will ever go back to read them. But they are there. Available for one day. Words. Are they useful, I often wonder. They are nice, beautiful. But in this time of drastic (terrifying) transition, when AI and everything else (well not everything, but definitely a lot) is pulling us towards a less human dimension, are words strong enough?... I wonder. Your words are beautiful. And I must believe that they are necessary. Love tells me to hold on to faith. I too wrote two books for children and their grown-ups. Both about emotions, love and joy and other core values. Love tells me to hold on tightly. To keep sitting lovingly with myself. To keep spreading love, even when it feels like they are laughing or not listening. Someone isn’t. and someone is. Someone needs our 'love letters', not only in written form, but in every way we know how to express love. Love tells me personally, to keep writing letters and books. The written word, a precious resource to use to re-source oneself. Love tells me that it may help one child of any age maybe - one day - when they are feeling lost and they realize that it is just what they (we all) need to feel connected and whole again. May we never give up on Love. It is our first and only superpower. Thank you Marco. Your words always re-source me with pure love. Necessary and strong. Just what I need. xo
